Long Weekend

So far we've been enjoying our long holiday weekend. Yard work was the order of the day on Saturday (Emerson even pitched in & helped). Yesterday we went to the Como Zoo where Emerson claimed her favorite animal of day was the tiger. On a related note, I realize the Como Zoo is the Twin Cities "free" zoo, but c'mon people, the donation bins are at the entrance for a reason. I can't stand it when a family of 13 waltzes right in without so much as thinking about tossing in a buck or two. I probably already pay for your groceries, I'm not that excited about paying for your entertainment expenses as well. Sorry, I just remembered this blog was about Emerson. She was oblivious to the non-donating patrons yesterday.

We're also in pseudo potty training mode this weekend. Emerson blew through about 9 pairs of underwear on Saturday. Sooner than later she'll get it.

Its been a while since we've posted anything, so here goes. It seems as though we're finally healthy again. Two weeks ago, Emerson caught the flu which put her out of commission for the better part of a week. Just as the flu was ending, her pediatrician discovered an ear infection, so back on the antibiotic we went. (she had just finished taking medicine for a DOUBLE ear infection the previous week). We're hoping for a fun & healthy summer.

Emerson joined Mommy and Daddy Friday night at the Hales to cheer on the Bulldogs. Dad might need a pacemaker after UMD's 5-4 OT win over Princeton.

Water Park

We took Emerson to a water park this weekend. We had fun watching her splash around in the kiddie pool. This was one of the few pictures we manged to get of her on the slide. After a few trips, she decided it was more fun to get to the top and chicken out.

I'm Two Today!

Our Emerson turns 2 years old today! If we're daring, perhaps we'll wake her up at 11:19pm (the exact time she was born).
