Busy Weekend

Our little buddy had herself an action packed weekend. She spent Friday night with her Grandma & Grandpa Quast while Mom & Dad went to a movie. Before the movie, we had an interesting conversation with the snack bar kid, who after pitching all of the various combo options he proclaimed that Carmike Cinema doesn't care about the environment. We're pretty sure he was high.

Saturday was our usual trip to Super Target and Emerson's first time sitting in the cart....and possibly the last. She soon discovered the strap was optional and managed to wiggle her way out of it and stand up. Needless to say we carried her the remainder of the way through.

Sunday Grandma & Grandpa Hubbell came down before their flight to Arizona. We had lunch at Champp's before driving them to the airport.

She's also trying many new foods as of late. I managed to snap this picture of her while sharing a bagel with Mommy on Sunday morning.

Emerson Olivia is 11 Months Old!

Our little girl is 11 months old today. It's hard to believe in one month she will already be a year old. She's eating more and more solid foods and getting into everything lately. She's recently learned to climb stairs, which keeps Mom and Dad busy running behind her. Unfortunately for us she's really good at her newly acquired skill and shrieks with delight as she climbs. Her newest thing is to giggle at everything we do. Sometimes she will just giggle at herself for no apparent reason. We just look at one another and wonder where she picks all of this stuff up.

Digging in the Fridge

I happened to keep the fridge door open the other night and who should swoop in behind me to play? She definitely had fun opening and closing the drawers and pulling things off of the shelves.

It's been a while since we've posted, so here goes. Emerson has pushed through her 6th tooth recently (we just discovered it tonight). She also threw up for the first time at daycare this past Wednesday, which resulted in Daddy turning around to pick her up. We've been working on "thank you" with her recently, which she tries to reciprocate in her own little language, very cute.

I snapped these pictures of her playing in her room, somehow the little stinker managed to pull herself up on her toybox.

Emerson Olivia is 10 Months Old!!

This picture with the sign thing is proving to be more & more difficult as Emerson gets older. She's more interested in eating the sign then sitting pretty for her picture. Oh well! Here is what we managed to get this month.

How Big is Emerson?

The answer of course is SOOOOO BIG! Just a few minutes ago while eating her dinner, Trista and I thought we would try to show her the "So Big" trick. Little did we know....she already knew it! She must have learned it at daycare! Oh well. While eating lunch at daycare today, Emerson decided to help herself to Gavin's (a 19 month old) jelly sandwich. Word is she wouldn't give it back and ate it herself. Can you say asserting her independence?

We did teach her how to clap this weekend. After she feeds herself, Mommy and Daddy reward her with a resounding "Yeah!" and a round of applause. She thinks she's such a big shot when she claps for herself and throws us a huge smile.
