Big Girl

It is hard to believe that Emerson will be 3 weeks old tomorrow. She is eating very well which is evident by how big she is getting. We took a family trip to Target tonight (Emerson is really getting used to going to Target) to pick up some essentials, which included size 1 diapers since her newborn diapers are getting a little snug. Those same newborn diapers seemed huge on her when we left the hospital!

Rainy Day

Mommy and Emerson didn't venture too far from home today due to the rainy weather. Instead they spent time bonding indoors. Emerson also slept quite a bit today and was just waking up from a nap when Dad arrived home from work. Tonight was bath night and to the delight of Mom and Dad, Emerson was a perfect little girl throughout the entire event. Mom and Dad are hoping for another good nights sleep tonight. Last night Emerson slept from 12:30 to almost 4:30 before deciding food was more important than sleep.

2 Week Appointment

With record temperatures in the Twin Cities today, Mommy and Emerson took full advantage by taking a long walk this afternoon.

Tonight was also Emerson's 2 week appointment. She was measured at 21 1/4" and weighed 7lbs 14oz, which means she has already grown a full inch and has gained almost two pounds. We're thrilled that our little girl is so happy and healthy!

I'm Cute!

With the beautiful weather this weekend, Mom & Dad took Emerson on plenty of long walks. She really likes her stroller and usually falls asleep instantly (which is something she didn't do between 11pm & 3am last night). She also went on a couple of car trips this weekend and has proven to be a really good little traveler. This picture was taken after her late morning feeding. Isn't she cute??

Emerson is 2 weeks old today!

Little Emerson turns 2 weeks today (at 11:19 PM to be exact). Mommy & Emerson spent the week together at home while Daddy returned to work. Mommy made sure she sent a couple of pictures to Daddy each day. We went for a long walk through the neighborhood last night before dinner. Last night was also bath night. Mom and Dad must be getting the hang of this bath thing because Emerson seemed to enjoy getting clean.

Grandma & Grandpa Quast Visit

This week Grandma Quast stayed with Trista and Emerson during the day while Grandpa and Mike went to work. We baked cookies, did lots of laundry, and played.

Emerson also figured out that she could blow bubbles. Mommy managed to snap a picture or two her in the act, but we thought this one was too sweet not to share.

Visitors

Emerson had the chance to meet all of her cousins from Cloquet today. Mike's sisters & their families along with Mike's Mom & Dad drove down for the afternoon. She enjoyed the love & attention from everyone and really appreciated all of the great gifts she received. Thanks everyone!

Emerson is 1 week old today!

It has already been one week since little Emerson Olivia came into our lives. Mom and Dad have noticed many changes in her over the past 7 days, mostly in her cheeks! Our little girl has blessed our lives so much in a short period of time and we cannot wait for what's to come.

First Outing

Mom and Dad took Emerson out on her first outing today. OK, we only went to Target, but you've got to start somewhere, right? She was a really good girl and slept the entire time. She was sleeping so soundly when we arrived home that we kept her in her carseat until it was time for her next feeding.

First Bath

Emerson had her first at home bath today. Since it was a two person job, we don't have any bath time pictures to share (though audio would be more compelling), but here is an after bath photo. Between her bath & check up, Emerson had a busy day. Maybe that will result in a good night sleep..........

Check-Up

Emerson had her first in home check up today and we're excited to say she is happy and healthy. She's also gained weight and now tips the scale at 6lbs 6 1/2 oz. She did very well during her check up & Mom and Dad couldn't be more proud.

My 2nd Day at Home

Emerson's 2nd night at home went well. She has spent most of the day doing typical baby stuff, you know, sleeping and eating. She is also excited about the Minnesota Wild's overtime win over the Vancouver Canucks, she must get that from her Dad.

Busy 1st Day Home!

After a restless night, she slept for most of the day despite having visitors for the better part of the afternoon. Trista's high school friends Angie, Stefanie (and Kingsley), & Sara stopped by to meet Emerson today (and were nice enough to bring lunch for Trista and I).

Emerson also received a cookie bouquet from our friends Elliot and Rachel. Since she's too little for cookies, Mom and Dad will be glad to eat them.

My 1st Day Home

Today is Emerson's first full day at home. She kept Mommy & Daddy busy last night with feedings, changings, and sometimes just to hang out and play. She is testing out her bouncy seat for the first time today and seems to be taking to it quite nicely. It's hard to imagine how we lived without her.

Homecoming

Today we were able to bring Emerson home from the hospital. So far she's enjoyed getting acclimated to her new home.

Emerson is born!

On Saturday, March 10th, 2007, Trista and I welcomed Emerson Olivia Hubbell into the world. She arrived at 11:19 pm & weighed 6 lbs 2 oz & was measured at 20 1/4" long. We're happy to say Mom and Baby are doing great! We've had many visitors at the hospital and appreciate everyone's well wishes.
