Everett is 1 Year Old Today!

Time tends to go by faster the older we get, and this past year was no exception. I can't believe Everett is a year old today. It seems like last week we were meeting him for the first time, and wondering if he would ever stop crying. For the record, he did stop crying and turned into a silly, fun loving little boy. We can't imagine our world without him in it.

It's Finally Spring!

We've finally emerged from what seems like one of the longest winters in recent history. March was full of illness as it seems like a bug made the rounds in our house for the better part of the month. Here's hoping the arrival of Spring means a healthier household! This morning I took Emerson to Home Depot for their monthly kids workshops. What a great way to spend time together and it allowed her an opportunity to try something new. Her planter box turned out great and once the weather warms up a bit more we'll plant the seeds she picked out. Everett has a new favorite word. It's "No!". He likes to test us by crawling towards the steps, then he'll turn around and shake his head from side to side and say "No!"

Emerson at 4

A little late with this post, but March 10th marked Emerson's 4th birthday. We celebrated her birthday at Edinborough Park with friends and family. At her 4 year appointment, she weighed 40lbs and was 40 and a quarter inches tall. The doctor had her perform a few physical tasks, along with letter and number recognition, and a few other cognitive tasks.
We're hoping for nicer weather so Em can try out her new bike. Here is some video of her first ride:

Everett is 9 Months Old Today!!

Everett Louis is 9 month old already! Where did the time go?

At his 9 month check up, he weighed 19lbs and 28.5" long. His favorite food right now is bananas, but he's also eating cheese, noodles, strawberries, and pretty much anything we place in front of him. His two bottom teeth are all the way through, and one of his top teeth has just cracked the surface. His sleeping habits are amazing, and we're hoping that trend continues! We've had to watch him a little closer now that he's mobile to ensure he doesn't tumble down the stairs. Luckily Emerson is also a great big sister in that regard.

Everett is 8 Months Old Today!!

Keeping up with this blog is proving to be tougher than I had initially thought. Maybe I need some lessons in time management, or maybe the reality of us both having full time jobs and little time to spend with the kids during the week has finally set in. By the time we get the kids off to bed, we're often too exhausted to even think about updating these pages. So, here is a brief rundown of what's new in our life.

Emerson is loving her role as a big sister. She has been a great help when it comes time to feed, change and generally entertain Everett. She absolutely LOVES to make him laugh and will do anything and everything to accomplish that goal. We recently decided that giving the kids separate baths just wasn't working, so about every other night they both pile into the tub. It is pretty cute to see them getting along so well.

Everett cut his first two teeth over the Christmas holiday. We've been introducing solids to him for a while (his favorite is bananas). He also likes Gerber puffs and cheese. He's also showing signs of full fledged crawling, right now he's mastering the "army" crawl. All in all, he's a content little boy who in our opinion is growing up way too fast!

Everett's 6 month appointment was today, and were happy to report he's a healthy little boy. Here are the stats:

Weight: 17lbs 10oz

Height: 27"

Head: 17 1/2"

All measurements land him in the 75th percentile!

Baptism and Fall Pics

We had Everett baptised on October 10th, with Uncle Todd and Auntie Tanya serving as god parents. Thanks to everyone who traveled here for the event!

Fall Weekend

It was a beautiful Fall weekend in the Twin Cities, and since we know the snow will be here before we know it, we decided to take full advantage of the perfect weather.
First however, Everett gave rice cereal a try. Let's just say he's not a huge fan, but we'll keep trying.
On Saturday we went to an apple orchard in Lakeville. The weather must have taken its toll on the apple crop this year, as the pickings were a little slim. We managed to pull a few decent apples from the trees, along with an apple pie (not from the tree). On Sunday we visited Pahl's Market in Apple Valley where we selected a few pumpkins and let Emerson burn off some energy in the giant inflatable pumpkin.

Everett is 4 Months Old Today!!

Everett rolled over for the first time yesterday. Were Mom and Dad able to witness it......nope! Thanks a lot work! It happened at daycare when the little fella rolled from his back to his belly. We were unfortunately not able to re-create it at home however. We'll keep trying.....or not. We both kind of want to keep him at this age for a while.

Bowling!!

We took Emerson on her first bowling adventure yesterday. She absolutely loved it! It didn't matter if she knocked down one pin or 10 (which actually happened once), she was soooo excited. I think we had more fun watching her little face light up during each frame.

State Fair

Emerson spent the weekend at her grandparents in Buffalo, so we decided to take Everett to his first ever State Fair! He did great the entire day, thanks to being toted around in the Baby Bjorn with Mommy.

Everett is 3 Months Old Today!!

Everett turned 3 months today!!
Note the date on the sign. I printed it, we took about 30 pictures of him with it, and I failed to notice it until this post was uploaded! Let's just all pretend it says August 16th. Agreed?

Everett is 2 Months Old!!

Our little man turned 2 months old this week. At his 2 month appointment, he weighed 12lb 5oz, and was 23.5" long. His most recent discovery are his hands and feet, he'll study them constantly.
